Credit contract signed for Song Bung 2 hydro-electric power project.
Both projects lie within the national power system planning for the 2006 – 2015 period with a vision for 2025, approved by the Prime Minister.
Under the contract signed by the EVN and three foreign banks including the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), the BNP Paribas and the Societe Generale, these banks will give loans of US$80 million and JPY 8.8 billion (US$95.2 million) to build the Song Bung 2 Hydro-electric Power Plant with a total capacity of 100 MW and an output of 425 million kWh of electricity a year.
The plant will be built on the Bung river in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province.
EPC contract signed for Duyen Hai 1 thermo-electric power project.
Under the US$1.4 billion EPC contract signed by the EVN and China’s Dongfang Power Group, the Duyen Hai 1 Thermo-electric Power Plant with a total capacity of 1,245 MW will have two turbine units, producing 7.5 - 8 billion kWh of electricity a year.
The plant will be built at the Duyen Hai Electricity Centre in Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province.
It is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2014.
