Andhra Pradesh: Energy secretary asks for quality power supply
During a review meeting held with the officials of Andhra Pradesh southern power distribution limited (APSPDL), the state secretary for energy department, N Srikanth said that nine hours power supply for the farmers and 24/7 uninterrupted power supply for the consumers was the top priority of the state energy department. The meeting was held at the company's headquarters in Tirupati on Tuesday.
Srikanth directed the officials to ensure quality power supply for the consumers under the purview of the APSPDCL. “It is the state government's commitment to the farmers and the people to ensure nine hours power supply to the farming community and uninterrupted power supply to the public. The officials should strive to ensure reduction of power cuts which have been worrying the consumers".
Pointing out to the electricity arrears’ pending collection, he called upon officials to conduct a drive to ensure all the pending arrears were collected immediately without fail. The energy secretary also called upon officials to minimize transmission losses and speed up the exercise of the appointment of junior line-men.
