Average ex-plant power prices were reported at 0.263 yuan ($0.0381) per kilowatt hour (kwh) during the pilot transactions; Prices for low-demand night hours were 0.082 yuan/kwh and those for peak-demand hours at 0.362 yuan/kwh, the report said
The government said last year it would launch spot power trading in eight regions, including Guangdong, western Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang, Shanxi, Shandong, Fujian, Sichuan and Gansu, as part of the efforts to liberalise power prices currently set by the state.
