After the meeting, Mr. Vuong informed that the Long Son Power Center Project will be considered for supplementing to the National Electricity Planning (PDP) and submitting to the Prime Minister for approval.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Dzung - Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Department of Industry and Trade, at present, in Ba Ria-Vung Tau there five LNG power projects with the great capacities such as Cai Mep Ha LNG – Power Complex, Long Son Power Center, Ba Ria 2 Thermal Power Project (TPP), Phu My 1.3 TPP, and Long Son LNG Power Project were proposed for investment but they have not yet been supplemented to NPDP (in 2010-2020 period), so there is no legal basis for implementation.

Therefore, Ms. Dzung asks MOIT to consider the proposal to Prime Minister to supplement the Long Son power center to NPDP, also to consider additional appraisal for the projects as Ba Ria 2 and Phu My 3.1 TPPs, which have submitted documents, and to issue the guidelines for the projects as Cai Mep Ha LNG – Power Complex and Long Son LNG TPP, the supplementing policy of which to NPDP is proposing

Exchanging views with Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial leaders, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong said: Ba Ria - Vung Tau had favorable conditions to develop LNG power projects with the large capacities, that will contribute to ensuring the national energy security in coming period.

Mr. Vuong also promised to receive the proposals of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for suitable development planning orientation. Immediately, the Long Son Power Center with a capacity of 4500 MW proposed by Generation Corporation 3 should be considered and submitted to the Prime Minister for approval to be supplemented to NPDP (2010-2020 period).
