EVN proposed Dong Nai province to support extending Tri An Hydropower plant

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has just proposed to Dong Nai province, supporting the procedures related to the investment policy to extend Tri An Hydropower plant for addition of 200 MW that expects to be in commercial operation by 2025.

As the Tri An extension project is already approved by Prime Minister in the National Power Development Planning (PDP) VII (adjusted) and has a total investment level of less than 5 trillion VND the approval of investment policy will be decided by the local authority.
 
Tri An existing hydropower plant including four units with a total capacity of 400 MW (4x100 MW) and annual average output of 1.76 billion kWh, it’s first and last units were officially operated respectively in April of 1988 and September of 1989.
 
Tri An Hydropower Company as a subsidiary of EVN has the functions the electricity generation, management, operation, repair and maintenance, overhaul, renovation and upgrading of electricity production, auxiliary equipment and hydraulic and architectural projects.
 
From the establishment date of the plant (December 2, 1987 up to now, the leaders, officials, engineers and workers of Tri An Hydroelectricity Company have continuously improved the professional level and researched to own the new technology, equipment… so the company has been given flags, medals and many noble certificates by the EVN, Government, State and ministries.
