That is shared by Mr. Dinh Van Thao - a worker of Krong No Power Transmission Team (Dak Nong Power Transmission, Power Transmission Company 3) - who has had many initiatives recognized and put into practice. He is called the "initiative tree" of Dak Nong Power Transmission.

Mr. Dinh Van Thao is always trying to learn and come up with initiatives.

During his 8 years of working, Mr. Dinh Van Thao has had many recognized initiatives. The initiative that he is most interested in is the initiative "Lightning protection winding robot". Mr. Thao shared that all current 220kV and 500kV lines managed by the unit have 1-2 lightning protection wires, optical cables combined with lightning protection on the lines to protect against lightning strikes on the conductors.

In operational management, there are many lightning strikes on lightning protection wires and fiber optic cables combined with lightning protection. At the point of a lightning strike, it is often damaged, broken, and accompanied by wind, causing shaking, causing the wire at the damaged point to become detached from the lightning protection wire and there is a risk of violating the safe distance leading to incidents.

Depending on the condition of the damaged wire, the unit will register for a planned or unexpected power cut to handle it. In addition to winding the lightning protection wire, after cutting off the power on the line, it will proceed to wire out the lightning wire by a special vehicle to the wire or lower the lightning wire to the conductor, to the ground to perform the winding. Therefore, it takes a lot of time, manpower, and effort to handle, especially working on lightning conductors at high altitudes is dangerous for operators.

From the above challenges, Mr. Thao has researched and built a lightning protection robot for transmission lines that are still live, in order to overcome and handle possible problems without having to cut off the line power. The robot is installed in the lightning wire at the top of the pole and moves from the top of the pole to the point where the lightning wire is broken, then controls the robot to stop, then combines with the control of the winding unit to wrap around the lightning wire, along with the slow back and forth movement of the robot to get a wrap of the desired length. Then, control the robot to move forward slowly to lock and squeeze the knots, making sure that the wires are fastened, and do not come off in the wind or shake during operation.

Another initiative that is also of interest to him is the initiative "Solution to check and monitor deflection in case of construction of wire tensioning at night by UAV". The initiative has been applied, supporting the construction of re-tensioning conductors with a bracing distance of 01-05 of the Buon Tua Srah - Dak Nong 220kV line, at the same time, it can be widely used to observe the deflection of conductors and support wires in construction, improvement, and repair of power transmission lines if construction is performed at night.
