Recently, In Tan Thuan commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province, the ceremony for starting Tan Thuan Wind Power Project took place.

Tan Thuan wind power project is developed by Ca Mau Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company as the investor and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No 2 (PECC2) as the EPC contractor.
The project with a total capacity of 75 MW, annual average generation of 220 GWh and investment of 2,950 billion VND has been supplemented to the National Power Planning by the Decisions No 1402 QĐ-BCT, 11/4/2016 and No 4940 QĐ-BCT, 27/12/2018 of Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The project including 18 wind turbines with the European model technology by capacity of 4.15 MW each is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021
Ca Mau is a province with a great potential to develop renewable energy. According to the approved planning to 2030, with a vision up to 2035 in Ca Mau wind power projects will reach 3,600 MW, national grid connected solar power projects - about 1,500 MW and biomass power projects (wood and waste to power) - more than 60 MW.
