Since November 19, Hanoi Securities Trading Center (HASTC) will open its doors at 8:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than at present. This center also considers carrying out one turn of hands changing at the end of each day’s trading.

Mr. Tran Van Dzung, the President of HASTC revealed that the Center opened its doors to investors half an hour earlier because the exchange had recently increased and some securities companies cannot enter all the orders of investors. HASTC prolonged the trading time so as to raise the liquidity of listed stocks, he added.

Currently, HASTC applies the trading time of 9-11 a.m. every weekday. As predicted, when the trading time is made longer, the exchange in Hanoi trading floor will also rise.

The center is thinking of implementing a periodical hands changing at the end of each day’s trading to set the price ceilings for the next day. For the time being, HASTC employs the method of continuously changing hands and the price ceilings are calculated by the weighted average of prices executed by the measure of quoting trading.

Nonetheless, HASTC is still wondering about applying a periodical changing hands instead of the current method, which one is the more suitable with Hanoi trading floor. HASTC’s representatives said that if implementing the so-called method, at least in 2008 that it is put into practice.
