According to Decision No.691/NQ-EVN-HDQT of EVN’s Board of Directors issued on 17 August 2007, EVN starts to sell high-quality compact lights from November 2007 through the supply chain of electricity companies with a non-profit policy, at a 10% cheaper price than the retail market price.
To carry out the electricity saving program in 2006-2010 period promulgated by the Prime Minister dated 14 April 2006, EVN will conduct a marketing campaign on compact light use in 2007-2010 period. It aims to develop and maintain sustainable compact light use in the community, to cooperate with suppliers to promote the annual consumption averaged approximately at 15-20 million compact lights including 1.5-2 million lights per year sold by EVN’s electricity companies, and to sell 5 million EVN’s compact lights from now to the end of 2010.
According to the campaign, the approach is to organize and develop a distribution network of compact light. EVN’s electricity businesses buy lights from producers/ suppliers at wholesale price and sell through supply chains at a retail price cheaper than market price. EVN set retail prices based on cost compensation principle, and non-profit aim encouraging the community to save electricity. Supplied lights will be compact lights with common capacity of 10-20W, white or yellow light, and average age of over 6000 hours guaranteed in 12 months./.
