The conference to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024 of EVNGENCO2 took place on December 28, in Can Tho City.
On the leadership side of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) were Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of EVN’s Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - President and CEO of EVN; Mr. Dinh The Phuc - Member of EVN's Board of Directors; and Mr. Pham Hong Phuong - Vice President of EVN.
Also attending the conference was Mr. Huynh Minh Truyen - City Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Business Sector of Can Tho City; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Business Sector of Can Tho City.
Regarding professional work, EVNGENCO2 General Director Truong Hoang Vu said that in 2023, Power Generation Corporation 2 has ensured the safe operation of power generation sources, met the system's mobilization requirements, and completed the assigned power output plan. Total power production in the year is estimated at 16.027 billion kWh, accounting for about 14% of the total power production of EVN and 3 Power Generation Corporations; accounting for approximately 6% of the total power output of the entire system.
EVNGENCO2's power plants effectively participate in the electricity market, closely following the hydrological situation, ensuring maximum generation and optimization of water resources. The units participate in both production and ensuring power supply, as well as regulating and reducing floods downstream if occur.

In 2023, EVNGENCO2 has well-implemented EVN's yearly theme "thrift practice and anti-waste", in which the O&M (operation and maintenance) criteria were saved by 12.61% compared to that in the plan. At the same time, the Corporation and its member units always pay attention to and promote major repairs to contribute to minimizing incidents and ensuring the plant operates safely and reliably.

EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An emphasized that EVNGENCO2 needs to strive to complete the Corporation's key task, which is to operate power production safely, continuously, and effectively, meeting the mobilization needs of the national power system. Along with that, the Corporation needs to make efforts to ensure the progress and quality of construction investment of projects and works; Strictly comply with standards, codes, and regulations of environmental laws; and enhance financial and cost efficiency.
