Project to link Nhon Chau island to national power grid

The Central Power Corporation under the Vietnam Electricity (EVNCPC) will begin a project to link Nhon Chau island commune in the central province of Binh Dinh to the national power grid.

Phu Yen (VNA) -  The Central Power Corporation under the Vietnam Electricity (EVNCPC) will begin a project to link Nhon Chau island commune in the central province of Binh Dinh to the national power grid.
 
The project has a total investment of over 351 billion VND (nearly 15 million USD) funded by the EU’s non-refundable aid and EVNCPC’s capital.
 
The construction will be jointly implemented in April by the Phu Yen Power Company and Binh Dinh Power Company and other relevant units.
 
Under the project, a undersea cable system will be built to bring electricity from Xuan Hoa commune, in Song Cau township, Phu Yen province to Nhon Chau island in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.
 
Other components of the project include a power grid, telecommunication facility and optical cable line established in Nhon Cau commune.
 
The project is expected to benefit households living on the island from September this year.
