The project, part of the first phase of the provincial programme to take electricity to Tran, Co To and Cai Chien islands, was built at total cost of nearly 200 billion VND (8.97 million USD).
It includes the construction of a 30.43 kilometre medium-voltage line, three tranformer stations with a total capacity of 460 KVA, 11,918 kilometres of low-voltage line and 37 electricity meters.
The project offers opportunities for the island to develop tourism services, making contributions to realising local socio-economic targets while protecting national sovereignty.
According to Nguyen Son Ha, Secretary of the communal Party’s Committee and Chairman of the communal People’s Committee, local people’s support for the project facilitated the land clearance process, which helped push forward local access to the national power grid.
