Binh Dinh province and PNE signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to develop Hon Trau offshore WP group.
Previously, on October 22, 2020, Binh Dinh PPC approved allowing PNE AG to survey, research, and install wind measuring columns for assessing wind potential in Phu Cat and Phu My districts. The survey and research period prolongs 12 months (from the date of giving the policy).
By mid-April 2022, Mr. Markus Lesser - CEO of PNE handed the proposal for Hon Trau offshore wind power projects to Binh Dinh PPC.
According to the proposal, the project will build 154 - 166 wind turbines, with a total capacity of up to 2,000 MW. These wind turbines expect to install in the sea areas of Phu Cat and Phu My districts, with the name "Hon Trau 1,2,3" developed in 3 phases of project implementation.
Each phase with a capacity of about 700 MW placed on the fixed and floating towers.
The completion of the projects will not only help increase the electricity output of Binh Dinh province but also contribute to seaport infrastructure upgrading, investment in the supply chain, industrial development and job creation for local people.
