The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has started to build a 1Gb/s wireless broadband standard, which is capable of winning the “title” 4G from other technologies, and seamlessly promises to substitute the mobile network and the very current WiMax technology.

IEEE  revealed that the technology namely 802,16m would be completed in 2009, based on OFDM and MINO that some companies like NTT DoMoCo in Japan used to use as the experiment of wireless transmission at gigabit speed. New standard will definitely be compatible with the current WiMax (802,16 m) and suitable with wired as well as mobile connection.
To this end, 802,16 m needs to overcome some shortcomings in accumulating a large amount of antennas at the same time. For example, NTT DoCoMo has combined 6 antennas in one mobile equipment. Present researches focus on minimizing the size of antennas so as to put them into terminals in greater number.
