Hydropower Co reaches H1 profit of 236b dong

Vinh Son Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Co (coded VSH) has estimated to earn 236 billion dong in profit after tax in Jan-June, in which the company's Q2 profit was 115 billion dong.
The company while explaining about the rise in profit in H1 of 2009 said that mainly due to favourable weather conditions the total electricity production volume was posted at about 519.3 million KWh in the first six months of this year.
In 2009, VSH targets to achieve total revenue of 511 billion dong, pre-tax profit of 292 billion dong with the sales price equal to that of 2008.
The company plans to officially start the construction work of Thuong Kontum Hydropower Plant, with designed capacity of 220MW and expects electricity production volume of 1.1 billion KWh in Q4 of 2009. This new hydropower plant is expected to be put into operation in 2014.
