Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is being widely applied at PTC 1, bringing high efficiency in transmission line operation management.
Up to now, 100% of the power transmission team of PTC 1 has applied unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to the power line operation management; application of shared software of Vietnam Electricity in production, business, administration tasks, thereby, contributing to quick detection of incidents, improving labor productivity.
Previously, all line operation management was performed manually. Employees of Phu Yen Power Transmission Team have to directly climb up and cross hills, streams, tens of meters high poles to check equipment and devices.
However, at present, Phu Yen Power Transmission Team has comprehensively applied UAV to the operation management of transmission lines such as Son La - Viet Tri, Hiep Hoa 500kV line; Suoi Sap 2A - Son La 220kV line; Viet Tri - Suoi Sap 2A 220kV line; In which, the team has applied automatic flight programming at about 30% of the total management sections.
According to the Phu Yen Power Transmission Team, the introduction of UAVs into operation management has contributed to creating favorable conditions for employees in the periodical inspection of the transmission grid. Specifically, in the midland areas, rice fields, and corridors, there are no trees inside, outside the corridor and fire-resistant trees, which can be periodically inspected by UAV. With the mountainous areas, many trees inside and outside the corridor, the Phu Yen Power Transmission Team shall combine two inspection methods of applying technology and the traditional way.
In addition to UAV equipment, PTC 1 also applies software to serve tasks such as daily inspection, measurement of line parameters, repair and maintenance, check of line parameters for heat emission, guide to column positions, retrieve data of each location. The features integrated into the software have made the inspection and control work on the line faster and easier. In addition, the software also makes detailed statistics of the shortcomings, helping the management department to develop a plan for handling it without having to meticulously review each paper-based periodic check form, reducing the time in completing the form and checking the results recorded on the form, increasing labor productivity, etc.
