Power to be given in northern province

<p style="text-align: justify;">Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to instruct the Bac Kan provincial People’s Committee to design a project to provide electricity to villages that have no access to the national grid.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 153);"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Investing in rural electricity creates a premise for economic development and contributes to agricultural and rural industrialisation and modernisation</span></span><span style="font-size: small;">.<br /> <br /> The project, which will use capital sourced mainly from the central budget (85%) and a proportion from the local budget, will be considered and adopted in the second quarter of 2012.<br /> <br /> According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Bac Kan is a poor northern province that still meets a lot of difficulties in socio-economic development.<br /> <br /> The power coverage in the province is now only 86%, while some 260 villages, with nearly 10,000 families, have no access to electricity.<br /> <br /> <br /> </span></p> Source: VGP
