On November 21, the Minister of enterprises and regulation reform of Britain, Mr. John Hutton, said that the country would construct the largest bioelectric company in the world.
The power production of this company derives from the heat quantity of wood, a cheap and environment-friendly fuel. The company with the capacity of 350 MW is located in the industrial city Talbot on the seaside of Wales in Southern Britain. Its operation period is 25 years with the estimated construction cost of ₤ 400 million (USD 830 million).
Mr. Hutton revealed that this is the largest bioelectric company in the world which produces enough clean energy to supply for half of the households in Wales and satisfy about 70% of the clean energy consumption target in this region in 2010. The company uses around 3 million tons of wood which is imported from the United States and Canada.
The plan of erecting this company is one of 8 projects on intensifying the use of recovered energy. British Government, in the past 12 months, has taken part in reducing exhaust gas that results in greenhouse effect as committed by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
