Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) reported that it began operating 18 power projects and constructing sixteen 220-500 kV power lines in the first eight months of this year.
The company produced and bought a total of 10.5 billion kWh of electricity in August, of which nearly 6 billion kWh, 56.3% of the total output, was produced by EVN.
In the first eight months of 2012, EVN bought and produced 77.637 billion kWh of electricity, an increase of 10.79% against the same period last year.
EVN also put five turbines into operation, including the fifth turbine at the Son La hydroelectric power plant, the first and second turbines at the Dong Nai power plant and the first and second turbines at the Kanak power plant.
