On February 22, in Yen Bai province, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Project Management Board of Central Power Projects (CPMB) deployed to construct the two urgent transmission projects in the Northwest Region including Huoi Quang - Nghia Lo 220 kV transmission line; Nghia Lo 220 kV transformer substation and 220 kV transformation line from Nghia Lo to 500 kV Viet Tri transformer substation.

EVNNPT started a groundbreaking for the two urgent power transmission projects in the Northwest Region.

Groundbreaking the two urgent power transmission projects in the Northwest Region.

The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB), designed by the Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC 1) and will be received for operation by the Power Transmission Company 1.

The Nghia Lo 220 kV transformer substation and 220 kV transmission line for connecting Nghia Lo 220 kV transformer substation with 500 kV Viet Tri transformer substation is built for releasing capacity of small hydropower that are very fast developed in Nghia Lo area to reduce load for the 110 kV Nghia Lo - Bao Hung - Yen Bai and Nghia Lo - Ba Khe - Cam Khe transmission lines, strengthen transmission and release capacity for hydropower plants in Lai Chau, Son La and Dien Bien provinces.

In addition, the project will also improve the safety, reliability and stability of regional and national systems, decrease transmission loss and increase the efficiency of production and business.

220 kV Nghia Lo transformer substation is constructed in Nghia Lo commune, Nghia Lo town, Nghia Lo province with a capacity of 250 MVA and a reserve position for the second transformer of 250 MVA.

The 220 kV line from 220 kV Nghia Lo to 500 kV Viet Tri substation with a length of about 92.62 km and 244 poles, going on a number of the territories of Yen Bai and Phu Tho provinces.

The 220 kV Huoi Quang – Nghia Lo with a length of 103.6 km and 200 poles constructed for releasing the capacity of hydropower plans in Northwest to Ha Noi areas, improving safety, reliability and stability of the national power system, decreasing power losses and increasing efficiency of power production and business.

As planned, these projects would be completed in June 2023.
