Hanoi Power Company: Proactively implements power-saving program

As said by Hanoi Power Company (PCHN), for the six last months of 2008, after it has saved 13.6 million kWh of power, power sales of the Company has estimated at about 2,495 million kWh, an 11.15% year-on-year increase. Moreover, the Company has reached the target of decreasing power loss of 9.32%, a 2.02% increase compared to the year’s plan.

To implement the power-saving program for the year 2008 but still ensure the power supply for the vital activities in the Capital, Hanoi Power Company has requested power plants to work with 300 manufacturers who have the annual power consumption of at least 3 million kWh or have the installed capacity of over 500 kW on the commitment of saving at least 2% of the power consumption. At the same time, the Company has collaborated with the Department of Culture and Information to hang up 1,500 banners to disseminate the saving of power in 48 main streets of Hanoi, deliver 100,000 leaflets of how to use electricity economically, make a video of saving electricity in the program of current events of Hanoi Television and son on. In addition, power plants also have sold 120,000 compact lights as planned.
In the six last months, Hanoi Power Company will continue to raise the average electricity tariff so that it will be 1,012 dongs/kWh, attempt to decrease the power loss in public substations, complete and put some 110 kV substations such as Gia Lam, van Dien, Dong Anh substations into operation to maintain stable power supply.
