Poor households to receive support for electricity bills

<p style="text-align: justify;">Poor households are to be given financial help to pay their power bills following the recent rise in electricity prices.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">The funds will be paid in cash before the 20th of the second month in each quarter, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said.<br />
<br />
All households below the poverty level, as defined by the Prime Minister in January, would receive VND30,000 (US$1.4) per month, backdated to the beginning of last month, the ministry said.<br />

A payment guide had been sent out to provincial People's Committees.<br />
<br />
The funds would be transferred to wards and communes for allocation, based on the number of poor households in their areas, in each quarter.<br />
