The Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industrial Group (TKV) is now speeding their investment in thermo-electric power projects due to the advantages in coal supply, announced TKV.
Since early this year, TKV’s Na Duong and Cao Ngan thermo-electric power plants with the capacity of 100 MW each, are in good operation, supplying nearly 1 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid. TKV is also co-ordinating with other contractors to put Son Dong and Cam Pha 1 thermo-electric power plants into operation in the coming time.
In addition, TKV is hastening the process of other thermo-electric power projects. Procedures needed for the operation of Cam Pha 2 thermo-electric power plant with the capacity of 300 MW are being perfected. Besides, the Mao Khe thermo-electric power plant, capable of 440 MW, is under construction.
By the end of this year, TKV will start work on the Phu Quoc thermo-electric power plant in Kien Giang province and promote the deployment of the Dong Nai 5 hydro-electric power plant with a capacity of 150 MW.
