Street – Bridge project in resettlement area in A Luoi hydropower project
A Luoi Hydropower Company constructed in A Luoi district, Thua Thien – Hue province was started on June 30, 2007 with the total capacity of 170 MW. The project consists of 2 units and has the annual power output of 686.5 million kWh/year. After operating, the Company will help stabilize the national power system, speeding up the socio-economic development of the province. With the regular water flow, the project will provide the low section of Bo river and the coastal area of Thua Thien – Hue with irrigating water, which will contribute to the development of agricultural and tourism sectors. At present, the main categories which have been carried out are mostly in 6 communes, including Hong Quang, Hong Thai, Hong Thuong, Phu Vinh, Hung Phong and Son Thuy, in A Luoi district. At the same time, the Company is cooperating with local authorities to complete the detailed plan of the resettlement area for 259 households who are in the area of the reservoir and about 900 ones who have lost the irrigating land. The long-term goal of the plan is to stabilize the lives and production, improving the living standard of the ethnic minorities in A Luoi district.
