As estimated, Cham Island has abundant wind force; each propeller which has the diameter of 3m will produce 1 kW of electricity per hour and this amount of electricity will be deposited into the reservoir before being transmitted to supply the island with electricity. The total investment of the project is more than VND 6.5 billion from Swede.
PetroVietnam Power Company will carry out a geothermal power project with the capacity of 18.6 MW in Thanh Tru village, Duc Lan commune, Mo Duc district (Quang Ngai). Ormat Corporation of the United States is the technical partner. Accordingly, the geothermal source includes water, mineral water, and steam which is mixed with gas from the exploited wells to provide energy for the whole plant. This is a self-contained process which does not do harm to the environment.
