“Power sector has to ensure the stable operation of power plants to satisfy the power demand for production and population’s consumption. The saving of power has to be carefully planned and transparently reported. In case of gas shortage, DO oil is permitted to be mobilized to operate the gas turbines of Nhon Trach Power Company No.1 and Ca Mau Power Company. Power sector has to enhance responsibility, assign duties and be ready to overcome unexpected incidents in order to stably provide electricity for production and population’s consumption.” said Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Chief of National Steering Committee of Power Plan VI in his speech to require the Ministry of Industry and Trade to supply concrete guidance to power sector.
Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister reminded The Electricity of Vietnam to closely collaborate with Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation, the contractor fulfilling EPC contract on Uong Bi Thermal Power Extension Project, and Da River Power Company, the contractor fulfilling EPC contract on Tuyen Quang Hydropower Project, to recover the defects and ensure to put units into stable operation. Vietnam Gas and Oil Corporation firmly cooperates with Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation and Construction Company No.1 (The Ministry of Construction) to take over projects such as the gas-turbine combined cycle Nhon Trach Power Company No.1 and Ca Mau No.2 and guarantee to adequately supply gasoline to stably operate units thus to accept and hand over projects as planned.
Deputy Prime Minister requested relating Ministries, sectors, provinces and organizations to fulfill the tasks assigned by the National Steering Committee about Power Plan VI in Documents No. 93/TB-VPCP dated April 15th 2008 and No. 3767/VPCP-KTN dated June 6th 2008 from Government Office.
