Attending the conference, there were representatives of associations related to the economical and efficient use of energy, international organizations, power corporations and power companies in EVN in the North, large electricity customers, and businesses providing power usage solutions, etc.
The training conference “Economical and efficient power usage for power units and electricity customers " is one of the contents and activities under the task of "Improving consulting capacity for power units about power saving implementation” under the National Program on economical and efficient energy usage. This program is assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to chair, including the task of implementing the Vietnam Electricity Saving Network (VESN).
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu - Deputy Chief of the Office of the Steering Committee for Energy Saving said that for many years, the electricity supply for the economy has always been ensured, as a solid foundation for socio-economic development, attracting investment, contributing to ensuring energy security. However, with the new context now and in the future, when input fuels are increasingly scarce, fuel prices are getting higher and higher, climate change is getting worse and worse, and geopolitical issues are increasingly complicated, the demand for investment capital for the development of the power industry is very large, etc. while the electricity demand will continue to be forecasted to increase at a high level for at least the next 10 years, it is important to ensure the electricity supply in the coming period will be many difficulties and challenges.
Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu acknowledged and highly appreciated the timely birth of the VESN in mid-2022. Accordingly, the VESN's goal is to connect organizations, individuals and power units, and stakeholders participating in VESN to jointly propagate, train and share experiences and solutions, improving the awareness of the economical and efficient use of power to the community, management agencies, social organizations, service enterprises.
Vice President of Vietnam Electricity Vo Quang Lam affirmed that EVN is the unit assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister to play a key role in ensuring power for socio-economic development and people's life. To accomplish that task, EVN determined to continue to be the leading unit in energy use activities, economical and efficient use of power in society; continues to play the role of a pioneer group in implementing the State's policies and regulations on economical and efficient use of energy in general and efficient and economical use of power in particular.
"EVN places great faith in the development of the Vietnam Electricity Saving Network, puts its faith in the VESN's goals, tasks and principles so that our power industry, as well as electricity customers, can fulfill their objectives, actions on electricity saving in a transparent, consistent, synchronous and systematic way", emphasized EVN's leader.
