The movement has drawn the participation of more than 150,000 students from 106 primary schools in Hanoi since this March. In each quarter, the organizer commends and rewards the most typical families of primary students in saving 10 per cent of power consumption in comparison with the same quarter of the previous year.
At the ceremony, 11 out of 920 registered families of students from Dong Tam Primary School in the second quarter of this year were praised and presented with awards.
Apart from Dong Tam Primary School, 29 other primary schools across Hanoi will hold such ceremonies to honour 152 students with achievements in the second quarter.
To popularize the importance of power saving, the organizer conducts exchanges with primary students. Since September 2011, exchanges took place at 164 primary schools, attracting more than 200,000 participants in Hanoi. Such exchanges will be held from this October to next May at over 500 primary schools, with estimated 760,000 participating students.
