Construct Tra Vinh – Tien Giang 500 kV line

The People Committee of Tra Vinh province and Electricity Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (The Electricity of Vietnam - EVN) have reached an agreement on the technical design of the 500 kV line from Duyen Hai Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant (Tra Vinh) to My Tho transformer substation (Tien Giang) to join the national power network.
Accordingly, this 500 kV line is 112 km in length and will flow through provinces such as Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Tien Giang. In Tra Vinh, it runs through 5 districts and is 59 km in length. Moreover, EVN has decided to construct a 220 kV which is in parallel with the 500 kV line from Duyen Hai Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant to Tra Vinh. From the transformer substation in Tra Vinh, the line will provide electricity for Ben tre province.
As expected, Duyen Hai Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant which has an investment of USD 5 billion and is situated in Mu U hamlet, Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Hai district will be constructed in June 2008.
