As said by Mr. Nguyen Bac Son, Marketing Director of Dien Quang Light Joint Stock Company, in the first months of 2008, power-saving compact lights which were sold in the market saw a 20% year-on-year increase compared to that of 2007.

The export market of this product line also appears to be optimistic. In more details, the Company has exported 350,000 power-saving compact lights to 3 new markets, namely Pakistan, Jordan and Mexico with the total value of about USD 500,000.

In the next coming time, in order to encourage the population to support the power-saving program of the Government, the unit collaborating with The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has set up a plan to supply the nationwide market with at least 5 million power-saving compact lights from now to 2010.

By December 2007, EVN had opened the chain stores selling low price power-saving compact lights throughout the country with 1,000 retail outlets.

Lights sold in these agents comply with the non-profit orientation, so the price is 10% lower than the market price. However, the quality still meets the strict technical requirements of EVN as well as domestic and international standard.

The lights have the service life of more than 6,000 hours, power-saving effect up to 80% and the products are insured for the period of 15 months from the manufacturing date directly printed in each one.

Currently, Dien Quang is training the sales staff for power-saving compact light stores which belong to EVN. The training course will last for 2 weeks in power plants such as Power Company No.1, 2, 3 and provincial power plants all over the country. This is the additional activity to the commitment of Dien Quang with EVN and consumers on promoting power-saving compact lights.
