Hoa Binh reservoir has overcome the period of low water level, being able to generate power with full capacity said Hydrographic Meteorology Forecast Center.

Influenced by the low furrow-drain and high wind convergence, in three or four days of the past week, there has been heavy rain and thunderstorm in many places in the North with the popular total rainfall of 100 – 200 mm. It has been over 200 mm in some provinces like Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang and so on.
The water flow to Hoa Binh reservoir has continuously increased from 1,000 m3/s on June 11 to 5,000 m3/s on June 14. The water level of Hoa Binh reservoir has quickly gone up and by Sunday morning June 15, it has been 89.08 m.
The water flow to Hoa Binh reservoir has begun to decrease but the water level of lake will continue to rise in one or two first days of the new week to more then 90 m. Therefore, Hoa Binh reservoir has overcome the period of low water level. From now on, the water flow to the lake will be greater than that which is discharged through units. The importance is the flood impediment in the low land from now to the end of August.
