Son La: Plans 95 small and medium-sized hydropower projects

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Son La province has planned 95 small and medium-sized hydropower projects with the capacity of 321 MW and is carrying out research to add 9 more projects with the capacity of 48 MW, raising the total capacity of the province to 369 MW.

Also revealed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, by the end of 2007, Son La province had licensed the investment certificates for 16 projects, of which there was one project which had been completed and generated with the capacity of 14.4 MW. The other 15 projects are being carried out with the entire capacity of nearly 160 MW.

However, among implemented projects, there is only Nam Chien No.2 has basically satisfied the progress rate, and most of the rest have been slower than the power generating progress rate that has been ratified.
