At the end of October and November, in the Central and Tay Nguyen, there have been continuous rainspells which has caused serious floods, directly putting impacts on the progress rate of some hydropower projects in these areas. Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has verified the field again and supplied units with concrete guidance in recovering damages.

As estimated by the Project Management Board the overall damages resulted from diluvial rain in 4 hydropower projects namely A Vuong, Tranh River No.2, Ba Ha River and An Khe-Kanak was about VND 19.30 billion.

After floods, the Investor and contractors examine and clearly ascertain the causes and responsibilities of relating parties in the impeding of floods, and at the same time recover the bad effects by approving construction strategies, estimating the cost of probable expenditure. And also, consulting units recheck the calculation of hydrologic and hydraulic power of the construction in order to design the surface water drain and pit water drain of progressing constructions, and adjust the design document to fight against floods in the next coming year so that they will be suitable with the practical situation.

To date, constructing units have organized conferences to gain experiments, and strengthen Flood Preventing Committee so as to punctually cope with stormy weather in the forth coming time in an effort to reduce damages and the impacts on the overall progress rate of projects.
