In the conference of fulfilling obligations in keeping with the National Objective Program on effective and economical use of energy in 2007 with the press on January 2 afternoon in Hanoi, as said by Energy Institute, although main enterprises generating a power consumption level of over 3 million kWh/year were entirely financed for energy audit, there still in 2007 remained 33% of them who had not been ready to carry out energy audit and only 70.9% of the audited ones had the intention of innovating technology after auditing.
According to the Office of the National Objective Program on effective and economical use of energy, the major obstacle that make entrepreneurs unenthusiastic with energy audit is resulted from the lack of awareness of effective work and innovative technology to reduce energy waste in production. Besides, despite the energy-saving competence of 25%, the return of investment of just 2 – 3 years and the total investment with 30% being financed, the top priority of enterprises is just still capital concentration to expand production. In addition, entrepreneurs with obsolete technologies which cause contamination usually do not agree to implement energy audit.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Secretary General of National Objective Program on effective and economical use of energy, reckoned that: “In 2008, the Program will continue to carry out campaigns to enhance the enterprises’ awareness of effective and economical use of energy and models of technological to decrease the energy waste in each items. Moreover, energy audit in typical enterprises will continue to be boosted.”
As revealed, in 2007, there have been only 10 out of 230 enterprises in the project on energy audit derived from Energy Institute that have deployed the work and invested in technology innovation. Whereas, from now to 2010, the National Objective Program on effective and economical use of energy will audit 1,000 enterprises of various industries.
