Coal price for power plants increases by 27%

As revealed by Vietnam Coal and Minerals Corporation, the coal price for local thermal power plants has increased by 27% since March, 2009 in line with the roadmap of increasing electricity tariff.

This new price is applied to all thermal power plants of Vietnam Electricity, including Uong Bi, Pha Lai, Ninh Binh and other power plants belonging to Vietnam Coal and Minerals Corporation like Cao Ngan, Na Duong, Son Dong and so on.

After rising by 27%, the price of coal dust 4 is VND 440,690/ton and that of coal dust 5 is VND 407,000/ton, excluding ship cost.

According to Vietnam Coal and Minerals Corporation, this price has been applied since March 1st although there has not been any official instruction.
