According to Department of Planning and Investment of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, the Real Estate Investment and Trade Service Joint Stock Co. Sy Cat has registered to invest in the wind-driven power plant in Con Dao project. The project is expected to be built in Bai Nhat – Bai Da Trang over the area of 45 ha in the period of 3 years.
According to the investor, Phase 1 of the project has the capacity of 10 MW, and will increase based on the real demand. Total investment is more than VND445 billion. The project will last about 30 years from the date of investment license. The price of selling electricity is expected to range from 13.2 to 16.5 US cents per kWh which is equal to VND 2,224 to 2,805 per kWh.
If approved, this will be the second project in the field of wind-driven power in Con Dao. The first one was licensed for Aerogie.Plus Limited Co. in Vietnam.
It is said that the project is necessary to support Con Dao in its economic-social development. Investors are also completing report on environmental impact of the project. The Department of Planning and Investment of the province has presented relevant documents for the provincial People’s Committee to ask for the investment license for the project.
