Turbine unit No.2 of Buon Kuop Hydro-electric Power Plant joins national grid

140 MW turbine unit No.2 of the Buon Kuop Hydro-electric Power Plant yesterday starts generating electricity to the national grid.

The 280 MW plant with two turbine units will generate over 1.4 billion Kwh of electricity a year, making a contribution to the country’s socio-economic development.

Only after six months of operating, the turbine unit No.1 has run at full capacity, providing a total of 500 million Kwh of commercial electricity.

The plant is invested by the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) with the total capital of around VND 5,000 billion.

The plant was built on the Serepok river, over 10 kilometres away from the centre of Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province in the southwest.
