At 01:11 a.m., 8 June 2024, the Project Management Board of Central Power Projects (National Power Transmission Corporation) in coordination with related units successfully energized the Bay extension item at Quang Trach 500kV substation of Quang Trach - Pho Noi 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu section.

This is the first item of the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project completed energization.
The Bay extension item at Quang Trach 500kV substation is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation and operated and managed by the Project Management Board of Central Power Projects (CPMB) on behalf of the investor. Power Transmission Company 2 (PTC2) undertakes the operation management after the project has been completed.
The Bay expansion item at Quang Trach 500kV substation is built on the reserve land area for 01 bay of 500kV line located within the existing Quang Trach 500kV substation campus and the second bay of Quynh Luu transmission line with the expanded land area located within the land boundary of Quang Trach Thermal Power Plant.

The energizing of Bay expansion item at the Quang Trach 500kV substation is to be ready for the energizing of the Quang Trach - Quynh Luu 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project.
The Quang Trach - Pho Noi 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, when put into operation, will create a strong connection from the center of North Central power sources to the load center in the Northern region. This is an important basis for safe, reliable, stable, and optimal operation of the power system, contributing to reducing power system operating costs; Transmitting the capacity of thermal power plants in the North Central region as well as renewable energy plants in the North Central region and surrounding areas into the national power system, providing electricity to the load center in the Northern region.
- As of the afternoon of 7 June 2024, The Quang Trach - Pho Noi 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project has completed all 1,177 foundation positions; 879 towers have been completed and are being erected; the conductors for 63 anchor intervals have completed and are being pulled.
