On October 18th, in Da Nang, the Chairman of Hydro Power PMB No.3 Tran Van Hai signed the contract with cooperated contractor consisting of Hoa Dong Design Institute and Alstom Thien Tan (China) for their supply electric-mechanical equipment and technical services for Tranh River hydropower project No. 2.
The Chinese cooperated contractor will provide two generator groups including supporting equipment, outdoor distributors and the system of control, security, resembling and operation instruction, etc. valued EUR 27,202 million.
Mr. Tran Van Hai said that this was one of the important contract packages that determine the success of Tranh River Hydropower Project No. 2. This contract package had not only a great value but also a tension progress rate so that by the end of 2010 Tranh River Hydropower Company No.2 would have generated, joining the national power network.
Tranh River Hydropower Company No. 2 is situated in the area of two districts of Southern Tra My and Northern Tra My (Quang Nam), which was set to work in the beginning of March 2006 with the total investment of VND 4,150 billion, the capacity of 190 MW and the annual power output of 680 million KWh. Apart from supplying power, the project takes part in impeding floods and creating the additional water resource for the downstream in dry season, meeting the demand of water for everyday life activities and industry as well as boosting the salt level for the delta and so on.
