Uong Bi Thermopower Company Extension: Temporarily stops operating

According to the National Acceptance Commission of Construction Project, Uong Bi Thermopower Company Extension is expected to stop operating from now to the end of December, 2008 in order to overcome the lightning-stricken incident of the 220 kV Uong Bi – Trang Bach power line, which has ruined the insulator of the high-voltage line in the 220 kV transformer substation of the plant.
Additionally, in the operating process, there has been a leak of steam in the pipes from the medium-voltage turbines to the low-voltage turbines owing to a crack in the expansion hinge. EPC general contractor (Lilama) has temporarily dealt with the problem and carried out the running test. Also, the general contractor required the additional contractor to provide the equipment to replace the expansion hinge.
